The over 65s are set to dominate household growth over the next two decades, according to forecasts from the Office for National Statistics. Data, based on population and demographic trends in 2014, found that households headed by an over 65 are projected to account for 74% of total household growth by 2039. By contrast, households headed by the 25 to 34 age group are decreasing. Households aged 85 and over are predicted to increase from 4.1% to 8.1% of all households over the period to 2039. So what does the future hold for these retirees? And what retirement property options exist?

Actors and musicians are drawn by proximity to both Pinewood and Shepperton Studios and surrounding areas have often been used as film locations. In Wraysbury itself, one of the lakes was used as the scene for the disposal of 007’s car in the James Bond movie, A View to A Kill . Access to London, its theatres, society events and all that the capital offers is another lure for both stars and mere mortals alike.
100 mile ride for charity

Laura Collins (Branch Manager, Flackwell Heath) and Pete will be cycling 100 miles on 31st July taking part in the Prudential Ride 100. Starting in London they cycle through the Surrey countryside finishing back in London at the Mall 7 or 8 hours later.

Let-to-rent isn't a new idea, but it’s one that is becoming more commonplace as a way of life. Massive and increasing costs to move, and problems replacing existing mortgages are often cited as a reason for not selling a property but letting it and renting another property to live in. Schooling often prompts a decision to let-to-rent if a family wants to live in a specific catchment area for a limited period and it’s also a great way to try living in a new area whilst keeping your options open. It may be the ideal option to facilitate a short term work contract, or just a way of keeping a home that you can’t bear to sell.
