Slough now rated 'best place to live' outside London

A massive investment programme over the last few years and the opening of the Elizabeth Line is clearly paying dividends with commuter town Slough now rated as the 'best place to live' outside London if you want to access the city according to a recent analysis by The Telegraph.
The Telegraph ranked the UK's towns using factors such as house prices and school quality according to OFSTED ratings and Slough emerges the winner on the publication’s default settings. You can adjust various criteria according to your priorities and the rankings of towns will vary accordingly but on the whole Slough comes out top, particularly when you factor in property prices which in Slough are approximately 35% lower than the London average.
Just 33 mins from central London, transport links are excellent with The Elizabeth line and connections to London and via Reading to the South West. Slough is a relatively affordable commute with cheaper season and daily rail tickets than other towns and also offers easy access to the motorway network and London Heathrow. Equally employment opportunities are good in Slough and the surrounding area with one of the largest industrial estates in Europe.
