Get ready for a January Sale!

Traditionally the tempo of the property market used to ease pre-Christmas, with vendors taking a break from marketing their property and re-launching it in the spring. But all that has changed in recent years with many vendors focusing on the time leading up to Christmas and New Year as an opportunity to market their homes as visits to property websites increase.
Last year on Christmas Day, Rightmove received over 1 million* visits to their site and over 3 million*visits on 4th January so now’s the time to get ready for a January sale or let!
With family and friends visiting, Christmas is a time when families feel they need additional space in the dining room or lounge or simply need more bedrooms to accommodate guests. It’s also prime time to make plans for the year ahead, all of which may prompt a decision to move house. Whilst Spring may appear to be a better time to showcase a property, with some care and attention to detail your home can still look cosy and inviting and, importantly, spacious if you have a new year declutter! Clever use of lighting indoors and some work to tidy the garden will maximize kerb appeal and make those first few minutes of a viewing really count.
