First timers remain upbeat after Leave vote
Monday, August 22, 2016
Whilst some agents saw buyer demand drop following the Brexit vote, sales to first-time buyers remained strong, according to the National Association of Estate Agents’ June housing market report. Mark Hayward, of the NAEA, said: “It’s a relief to see that looking at the month overall, buyers were still keen to buy, sellers were still keen to sell and sales were still going through at the same level as we’d expect.” The new housing minister’s commitment to building a million new homes is encouraging for first time buyers as is the lowering of interest rates and availability of mortgages.
Areas like Slough, Langley, Staines-upon-Thames, Feltham and Ashford are ideal for first time buyers with affordable entry level properties, an easy commute into London by road or rail and excellent sport and leisure facilities. Demand for properties is strong and we have many registered first time buyers waiting for suitable properties.
If you are thinking of selling, invite a local NAEA agent like The Frost Partnership to give you a free, no obligation valuation. To quote Rightmove, “nothing can replace the skills of a local agent to establish the best price, attract the most interest in your property and achieve a quick sale”.
The Frost Partnership will visit at a time to suit you, show you recently marketed, comparable properties and give you a realistic estimate of value.
