Gearing up for the New Year - will your property be ready?
Friday, December 5, 2014
The festivities of Christmas will soon be upon us and our lettings teams advise that this is the ideal time to prepare your property so that it is on the market, ready for the surge of new tenants who start their property search in the first few weeks of the New Year.
Chris Cotton, Manager of Lettings in Middlesex says, “Traditionally the lettings market is slightly calmer during December when tenants’ main focus is, understandably, getting ready for Christmas. Yet, for landlords, this is a crucial time to get your property prepared and on the market before the New Year. In the first few weeks of January, there is always a surge of tenant activity, where serious property searching and viewings take place. To maximise your chances of getting your property in the spotlight, we would highly recommend that you speak to us about how best to update or refurbish your property so that we can assist with getting it on the market by mid-December, in time for the New Year rush.”
In Feltham, Sebastian Rodriguez recently placed a newly built three bedroom property on the market in Bedfont, which let at full asking price on the first viewing. He says, “Properties in good condition, with accessibility to transport links will let quickly. We are already getting some new properties on the market which will be available in the New Year.”
