Best Kept Village winners announced
Monday, July 29, 2019
Judging of the 2019 Buckinghamshire Best Kept Village Competition has now ended and the best kept villages in Bucks have just been announced. We’re delighted to see winning ways from several of the villages and towns where The Frost Partnership has offices; Burnham, Chalfont St Peter and Chalfont St Giles. A total of nine awards are handed out across a range of categories. Burnham and Chalfont St Peter competed for The Pushman Cup (for villages with a population over 3000). Burnham was the winner with Chalfont St Peter the runner-up. Chalfont St Giles was awarded The Tindall Cup (a competition for the 2017 cup winners).
Bill Chapple, Chairman of the Best Kept Village Competition, said: “Our popular Best Kept Village Competition highlights the great community activity that goes on in our lovely Buckinghamshire villages and towns. It is a great way to recognise the contribution of many who give their time and effort to showcase and enhance their local environment. The Best Kept Village competition is not just for ‘pretty’ villages and towns – we want to see communities where everyone makes an effort to keep their surroundings well maintained. Judging is not just about the high streets but also the other areas in the village or town to emphasise all the community’s contributions.”
