Buy to Let still booming
Monday, March 30, 2015
House prices are still on the up albeit at a lower level and despite predicted uncertainty prior to a general election in May, February figures from Rightmove show the average price of property in the UK coming onto the market is still rising with demand for properties still outstripping supply. Indications from the Bank of England are that interest rates will remain low and could even decrease further – contrary to expectations of an increase earlier this year. Such developments can only spell good news for buy-to-let investors. With record low mortgage rates on the market, investors can take advantage of a range of great deals available and increased competition between lenders may mean that there are more mortgage deals at lower rates.
So now’s a good time for investors to buy. But what about the lettings market? Chris Cotton, Lettings Manager for Middlesex at The Frost Partnership is bullish, “2015 will see an extremely strong local lettings market in Middlesex. There are still many people who simply cannot afford to get on to the property ladder. Demand from tenants is strong and the market is buoyant. We have a number of large corporate businesses located nearby driving employment and with it the need for accommodation. These include; BP Head office in Sunbury, BUPA in Staines, British Gas and of course Heathrow Airport. Being located near the M25 and with exceptional rail links, Staines is an attractive option for commuters. There are good schools and a riverside lifestyle for families.
Throughout our branch network across Bucks, Berkshire and Middlesex, if you are looking to Buy to Let, The Frost Partnership can advise on suitable properties, offer a free market appraisal of your property and how to prepare it for the rental market. Our free 12 month rent guarantee and legal protection plan are also good reasons to choose Frost lettings first when letting your property.
